とめけん – “Tomeken”
This simple spike is the last of the basic Kendama tricks. Simply hold the Ken with the ball hanging down. Pull the ken up so the ball moves up. Move the ken below the ball so you can spike it (so the spike goes into the hole in the ball). If you are new to this Kendama trick, a good technique is to “pull” the ball up rather than flick it up so that the hole remains at the bottom of the ball and the ball does not rotate. If you position the Ken right under the ball when it’s at the top of it’s arc, you should be able to gently and smoothly spike it.
